This Economist chart uses several data points to predict which Mideast countries will erupt into protests next. The top five are usual suspects: Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Syria and Iraq. But the next one is somewhat surprising: Oman. Part of the calculation is based on the leader’s length of rule. Oman’s monarch, Qaboos bin Said al Said, has ruled since 1970.
Interestingly, two protesters died in clashes in Oman yesterday.
