So, Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo:

Microsoft Corp., the world’s biggest software maker, made an unsolicited $44.6 billion offer for Yahoo! Inc. to challenge Google Inc.’s dominance in Internet search services and advertising.

Sounds good to me. Yahoo is weak and has been getting worse. Their searches pale in comparison to Google and their email system sucks. I just left Yahoo for Gmail mostly because of the lack of a proper spam filter.

Google will be better off with a strong competitor and Microsoft will definitely give them a run for their money. And don’t whine about big, bad Microsoft threatening Google’s market. Google’s been encroaching on Microsoft’s market since it introduced its Google Docs online software — a direct threat to Microsoft Office.
